School Lunch and Breakfast

What's For Lunch?

Lunch menus are posted on the Hawthorne School District website.

Your child will be given a meal identification number. Please help them to remember this number.

Students may buy lunch in the school cafeteria for $2.50 per day.  Milk may also be purchased for $0.50.

PLEASE NOTE: The cafeteria will only extend credit to students for 3 meals, then an alternate meal will be provided.  Please make sure your account is up to date, or bring money for lunches!

Eligible students may receive meals free or at a reduced price for lunch (breakfast is free). Forms for the free/reduced lunch program are available in the school cafeteria or you can apply at

Payment Options

In efforts to speed up the lunch line and ensure each student has access to our healthful meals, cash will not be accepted on the lunch line.  Parents must pay in advance by using one of these methods:

  1. Pay on-line at:
  2. Pay in the cafeteria prior to 10 a.m.
  3. Drop a sealed envelope with payment, student’s name, grade, and lunch number into the box in the front office of the school, prior to 10 a.m.

Sack Lunches

Students may bring their own lunch.  Please bring your lunch in a sturdy lunch bag and make sure that you label all personal items with your name.  Students may purchase milk from the cafeteria if necessary.

In the event that your child forgets to bring in their lunch bag, please do not take it to your child’s class.  Leave it inside the office, notify office staff that it is there and we will make sure your child gets it.

Breakfast Program

Students who arrive at school on time receive a free breakfast each day.  Breakfast is provided by HSD Food Services.
